A suspended rating cannot be used to cover a shift
Breaking it rosters somebody on a rating that is currently suspended, so the position is covered by a rating that is not valid.
What qualifications and currency rules protect
This is the family that connects competency management to the roster, and it is where an integrated system earns its keep. A rating with an expiry date is not a document sitting in a folder; it is a constraint on who can be assigned where, on which day. When an endorsement lapses, the engine stops offering that person for that position rather than producing a roster somebody has to catch by eye.
