The desktop is where the roster gets built. The phone is where it gets lived with.

The month calendar colours every cell by what occupies it and overlays icons for shift extensions, swaps and pending decisions. A dedicated swap-selection mode lets an employee tap two or more of their own shifts directly on the grid and file the swap from there, without opening a separate builder screen first. Past days are locked out of selection.

The clock-in control lives in the top navbar, always visible, not buried behind a menu. The label switches automatically between Clock in and Clock out based on current state, and a remote clock-out is disabled outright if the employee is currently recognised on-premise, the app will not let a phone create a session that conflicts with a badge reader.

Below that, a day-grouped list of clock entries supports pull-to-refresh, a manual entry form for a missed clock event, and a separate absences list where a flagged gap can be justified from the phone rather than waiting for a desk. See the attendance module for how the record itself works.

Push, in-app and email all fire from one underlying event, localised into the employee's own language. A settings screen lets each person choose which of nine categories, requests and changes, understaffing, roster approval, security changes and more, are allowed to interrupt their phone, independently of the others.
